#12024 - Company Decal Accessory Pack - Hill & Hill Truck Lines

Decals For Truck Tractors & Trailers, 1/87 (HO) scale - Includes decals for Hill & Hill Truck Lines company door logos, unit numbers, and fuel and use permit decals (for 1 truck)

Hill & Hill Truck Lines was based in Houston, Texas and based on our research, was a primary carrier for materials and equipment for building and maintaining the Trans Alaska Pipeline project from 1969 until its completion in 1977. Operating authority included Alaska and Canadian rights in addition to southwest and western states. Hill & Hill operators usually had new, extremely reliable, mostly conventional sleeper cab trucks, that were very well maintained and outfitted to survive the rugged Alcan (Alaska-Canadian) Highway. Suitable readily 1/87 (HO) scale available models would include Athearn Kenworth conventional models, especially in the fancy owner operator paint schemes. Older Herpa North American prototype models would also be appropriate. Any resin or specialty sleeper equipped model conventional truck tractors from the late '60s through early '80s would be good candidates as well. Hill & Hill Truck Lines did operate some company trucks ("rugged" Kenworth W900 models with steel pit fenders and hoods) that were painted metallic green. Hill & Hill owned mostly flatbed trailers and it appears some operators owned their own flatbed trailers.

Decal Placement Instructions:

Main door panel decal - centered on both cab doors

Permit data decal - affixed to sleeper side behind cab doors; no exact placement from photographic research

Unit number decal - front of cab above headlight (both sides) on cabovers; no specific known location for conventional cabs but we recommend either side of hood near grille/radiator shell
